Hooray for
Summer! It has been four days since the Summer Solstice that heralded the
official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Depending on where you
live I can see the collective rolling of the eye. In either case the warmest
days of the year are upon us. Many of us will be seeking solidarity with the
masses at pools and beaches around the world. If you are like me you fear the
dreaded “B” word. Dare I say “BIKINI”. Say it with me “B.I.K.I.N.I.” Even the
fittest of the fit has qualms about showing skin. Although I normally do not
care much for fads I am very happy that many boutiques, department stores and
other various retailers have embraced the high waist bikini. I think I will
stock up just in case they decide to fall out of love with the style. It is classic, chic and just as sexy as any other piece of swimwear. It is
also, dare I say “comfortable”. My favorite high waist looks can be mixed and
matched. I am currently planning on obtaining a navy blue polka dot bottom, a
black and white polka dot bottom as well as a basic black pair. The cool part
is that you can buy any kind of top that you would like to go with it, or buy it as part of
a set and mix and match that way.
You can
find this cute bikini on Etsy.com from “Venderstore” for $39.99
Love
color? This is a ruched style from Zappos. The “Unique Vintage Monroe
Bikini Bottom” sells for $44.00.
Have you
embraced the high waist bikini? By all means, let me know below.
